Synopsis

An episode from the TV program Giovani recounts the first sentimental experiences of Andrea, 15 years old, intelligent but not particularly studious, who has a crush on Janine. He thinks this is true love but, at the first setback, he is ready to fall in love with a different, more mature girl. She tries to make him understand, in all honesty, that true love isn’t the same thing as a crush but instead must be constructed slowly, with suffering. Andrea doesn’t listen to her; he’s convinced he has fallen in love once and for all.

Director statement

“Through the stories of young people, I told love stories at a moment when young people, in keeping with the false cultural values of the moment, were completely focused on politics […]. The best love stories, for their intensity and the quality of their actions, are those which concern the modesty of fifteen-year-olds, when a blink […] was a cosmic beam of feelings.”
