A news documentary about Somalia. For years now no information or images have come out of this African country. Somalia is the only country in the world that doesn't have a government. Guerrillas can commit atrocities undisturbed, and the water, and electrical lines are destroyed. Donkeys are used to transport water and chat (a twig containing a natural amphetamine) has become the product most consumed by women and children.

Antonio Pirrone
Antonio Pirrone (Catanzaro, 1961) has worked for many years in juvenile prisons and international cooperatives. This activity has inspired the following film-documentaries in video 8: 8 marzo donne sull'orlo di una crisi... (1994), I ragazzi di via Paglia (1995), Il muro (1996), Facciamo pace? (1996), and Le porte aperte (1997).
