Paolo, Martina and Giovanni, recovered drug addicts, have to learn how to live all over again. First in a community, then far from the protective shell of the disintoxication center, in order to regain a place in society. Paolo, a car salesman and ex-drug dealer, finds his way thanks to photography. Martina get a job in a computer company. Even though Giovanni has been in and out of communities and has AIDS, Martina's marriage to Giovanni helps her to achieve a certain stability, until his death.

Piergiorgio Gay

Piergiorgio Gay (Turin, 1959) is one of the first associates of Ipotesi Cinema, founded by Ermanno Olmi and Paolo Valmarana at Bassano del Grappa in 1982. He worked as assistant director for Ermanno Olmi, Maurizio Zaccaro and Michele Placido, with whom he wrote the screenplay for Un eroe borghese. He has shot several documentaries and is active in advertising. He presented his feature film Tre storie, co-directed with Roberto San Pietro, at the 1998 Torino Film Festival, where it won the Nestle prize for distribution.

Roberto San Pietro

Roberto San Pietro (Milan, 1955) has studied philosophy, and he, too, is a graduate of Ipotesi Cinema. His documentary Frazione Foppaluera, Brianza won a prize at the Festival Filmmaker of Milan.
