Il mare
by Giuseppe Patroni Griffi
A man goes to Capri for a date. It is in the middle of winter and the little town has an unusual atmosphere of anxiety and loneliness. The woman that he had to meet calls him saying that she won’t come. A little irritated he begins to wander around Capri meeting a cryptic boy first and a weird woman later. There seem to be the chance for a triangle. But then he finds out that the boy is homosexual and starts flirting with him. The woman watches casually. The man doesn’t refuse the boy’s “avances”, he understands his bitterness and gets to the point he drinks his cologne, which he firmly “offers” to the man.
But then he decides to put the boy aside (he will kill himself because of that) and focuses on the woman. She is tired and distant. Their union is sad and hopeless.

Declaration
film director
I didn’t know anything about cinema and during the first three weeks I worked around the camera without finding the right clue, without managing to establish a relationship between the medium and me. Then something clicked and everything was clear. And I finally understood that my generation knows everything about cinema.
