In a sugar cane plantation in the Northeast, in Santa Rosa, a teenager discovers an entirely new world after his mother dies. The tenderness of his aunt helps him get through this loss and other losses. When the aunt marries, he discovers new friendships among the young people of that place. Then he discovers sex. When he goes into the city to continue his studies, the boy will be deeply changed,.
