Giorni di gloria

Days Of Glory
by Giuseppe De Santis, Mario Sarandrei, Marcello Pagliero, Luchino Visconti
Country: Italy
Year: 1945
Duration: 70'

Documentary of edited archival material treating the war of the partisans, the trial of the ex-police commissioner of Rome, Pietro Caruso, and his assistant, Occhetto, and the Fosse Ardeatine.
"The person who got the idea for Giorni di gloria was Serandrei, one of the most famous Italian film editors of the time. The idea was really and only his, as opposed to what some people say. He edited all the material and is thus the greatest craftsman of Giorni di gloria, which is a film, mainly, of editing. I worked ion the editing with him, and then my role was to coordinate the material which, for the most part, was given to us by the partisan groups from the south, and more importantly from the north." (Giuseppe De Santis)
