Jim Gillespie

Jim Gillespie (Scotland, 1961) began his work in films as a screenwriter. In 1980 he won an award from the Arts Council for the project Lie of the Land. Between 1982 an 1986 he worked as assistant director for numerous commercials and fiction films. He debuted as director with Happy the Man, produced by Scottish Television. He has directed several television films for Channel 4, and, since 1990, for BBC.
