Before SelfPortraits was a video, it was a human experience. Being shot on camera and representing yourself is a way of feeling in your gut the disquiet of revealing yourself to others. The wish to communicate your own nature comes out of a deep desire to exchange and share experiences, secret thoughts and sentiments. Putting yourself into the game is liberating but difficult because it brings your limitations, weaknesses and fragility up to the surface. Your first instinct is to run away from this necessary confrontation. SelfPortraits tells the story of inner paths, of twelve individual stories that share the same generation, stories in which each person seeks and constructs her or his own identity.
