At the Dos Peñas farm in Jalisco, don Braulio reminds his nephew Felipe and Manuel that they have to get rid of Fernando (the last of the Iturriaga) because of an old family feud. The beautiful María Ángela, Felipe's sister and Manuel's childhood fiancée arrives from Spain. She finds Fernando in an abandoned house. The two fall in love but María Ángela decides to marry Manuel to prevent any violence erupting within the clan. In spite of the efforts of both María Ángela and Rosa, who is in love with Manuel, violent clashes and dangerous encounters take place at two parties. At the splendid one given by don Braulio, María Ángela just misses getting into serious trouble while, at the more rowdy local one, Fernando passes as a coward when provoked by don Braulio who arrests him and forces María Ángela to marry Manuel. On their wedding day, Manuel nobly tries to make the woman's elopement with Fernando easier but the two are discovered and killed. Manuel, clinging to the dead body of María Ángela, throws himself off the cliff of las Ánimas.
