Twenty-four-year-old Fujio Rika is abandoned by her boyfriend, Ono Seiichi, who accuses her of loving only herself. She finds consolation in her friendship with Kono Shingo, a twenty-nine-year-old film distributor who is going through a personal crisis. He soon falls in love with her. Fujio and Ono get together again. Ono is about to be promoted and is transferred to New York. He asks Fujio to marry him and she accepts. Ono's promotion falls through ten days later. Instead, Ono has to move to New Guinea, where he will work as a manager. Meanwhile, Fujio discovers that she is in love with Kono.

Shinji Aoyama
Aoyama Shinji (Fukuoka, 1964) got his start in the world of cinema at an early age, right after graduating from university. He later worked as assistant director for Kurosawa Kiyoshi, Fridrik Thor Fridriksson and Daniel Schmid. He has made twelve full-length films which have been presented at major international festivals, gaining critical success and winning prestigious prizes in Cannes and Singapore. Almost all his works have been presented in various sections at the Torino Film Festival.
