In Teheran on the eve of the millennium life is hard as in any city. A man, many years a widower, makes ends meet by selling medicines on the black market. He makes appointments with his customers in the tea rooms near the open market squares and in the wind-beaten alleys nearby. It is dangerous work at times, but it is better than nothing. Every day he takes the same bus at the same time and meets a woman at the bus stop. The two are in love, but no one should know about it. She too is alone and does not want to be alone any more.
"Restrictions and inhibitions form the icy atmosphere in which humans seek to connect in desperation and despite the swarming life surrounding them, one more day seems to be all they need to survive their solitude and keep their dignity" (Babak Payami).
