Bahia de todos os sambas

This musical show was organized by Gianni Amico and Renato Nicolini from August 23-31, 1983 at the Circus Maximus in Rome. Bahia, the samba capital, presented its most famous singers, dancers and musicians to an audience of 150,000 people in a 3-da? happening that included João Gilberto, Caetano Veloso, Naná Vasconcelos, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa and Armandinho and the Trio Electrico. After Amico and Hirszman died, Saraceni edited the material and finished the documentary's post-production.

Paulo César Saraceni
Paulo César Saraceni was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1933. He is one of the most important directors of Brazilian Cinema Novo. In 1961 he attended courses at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, and the following year he directed Porto das Caixas, his first full-length movie. He presented his film O Viajante at the 1999 Torino Film Festival.
