A murder? Hit-and-run drivers. An accident. Samy gets mixed up in a sinister tale with Franck and Pablo. He was the one driving the car and he is the one who probably killed a policeman. Franck and Pablo destroy the car, leaving Samy to his remorse. He gets back home and confesses the murder to his parents. His mother, who is Algerian, decides to protect Samy from the police by sending him to Algeria in her family. Welcomed by Issam and Nadia, his first cousins, Samy discovers his mother's country and above all meets his old and sick grandfather. Along the wadi, Samy, prisoner of his heavy secret, searches for his identity and gets lost.

Gaël Morel

Gael Morel (Lacenas, 1972) left her family and moved to Lyons when she was fifteen to enroll in a school of cinema. During the early 1990's, she began a long correspondence with the director André Téchiné, who had her act in his film Les Roseaux Sauvages (The Wild Reeds, 1993). Morel has directed various short films and, in 1996, she presented her first full-length movie, A Toute Vitesse, at Cannes. Three years later she presented Premiéres Neiges, which was co-produced by ARTE. In 2000, she took part in the filming of Loin (Far Away) by Téchiné. Under Another Sky is her third full-length movie.
