by Dagur Kari
Country: Iceland, Germany, UK, Denmark
Year: 2003
Duration: 93

Nói is a 17-year-old who lives on an isolated fjord in northern Iceland. During the winter, the fjord is cut off from the rest of the world, surrounded by sinister mountains and buried under a blanket of snow. Nói dreams of escaping from that white prison with Iris, a girl from the city who works in a local gas station. But his clumsy escape gets out of hand and ends as a complete failure. A natural disaster destroys Nói's universe and offers him a chance to enter a better world.
