In a far-off humanity lives in orbiting colonies under the power of
multinational enterprises. The Edwards Corporation, a leader in the production
of androids, is going through a bad moment. In order to escape the economic
slump, the management decides to genetically replicate the now-deceased Abel
Edwards, a magnate of the entertainment industry and the founder of the company.
The clone will have to renew the company, using the infallible business sense of
its predecessor.
"I have always been struck by the idea of adapting old films to new scenarios.
Just like literature has stories that are always re-proposed in a modern key,
cinema, too, has classics that are ready to be revisited. Able Edwards picks up
on the spirit of Citizen Kane. Naturally, we didn't have a lot of money to
invest, but by using amateur technology and lots of initiative, we were able to
make this film in 15 days with only a $30,000 budget. The plan was the
following: take a neutral background, the actors, scan some photos to use as
backdrops and shoot a seemingly high-budget film, without any money."
