A story told by a group of people whose lives have
totally changed during sleep. A family who suffers from a rare insomnia
that will lead them to death; a narcoleptic painter who lives half way
between dream and reality; the night life of a sleepwalking boy; a life
guard who stops breathing 600 hundred times each night; a narcoleptic ex
boxer who falls asleep on the ring; a man without the R.E.M. phase.
Their mutual intention is to discover an answer to their mysterious
problems.
"A sick patient is always awake. We thought that nothing happened during
sleep. On the contrary, sleep is an active status and this is what our
film is about. Working on this project we have learned two things: sleep
and dreams are very important for our lives; illnesses have different
shapes in each person, and become unique. Making the documentary we have
learned that it is not possible to tell about an illness without telling
about a person." (E. Cerasuolo, S. Fergnachino)
