One night in Beijing, two apparently unconnected
stories unfold. These stories are based on true facts: Tong's girlfriend
has been kidnapped and the man, who doesn't want to pay the ransom,
hires a private investigator to help him find her. Yue and Hui have been
locked up at home and forced to have sex with the many clients all night
long.
"I was very depressed to hear the stories that are the basis for my
film. Regardless of what the social and economic reasons are that push
those girls into prostitution, there are thousands of them in China.
These prostitutes suffer both mentally and physically. Their sufferings
are inflicted by those who call these girls 'hooker' and 'bitch' in
public, and pay to sleep with them in private. I just want to use this
simple story to tell these girls that there are people who care about
them." (Pan Jianlin)
