Centoxcento ritratti - 100 storie x 100 anni CGIL

Country: Italy
Year: 2005
Duration: 75

In 2006 CGIL will be 100 years old. To celebrate the special anniversary, Italy's biggest organization has made a start on the project Ritratti. 100 anni di storia italiana attraverso volti, storie, testimonianze, ricordi dei lavoratori. Ritratti wishes to represent a whole century in the life of Italy, through the faces and the stories of the working people who helped in building up our country, being CGIL traditionally bound to the history of  our nation in this century. The project includes: a series of 100 video-portraits dedicated to workers, memories of retired people, special places and stories about the workplace; an outdoor exhibition of photographs dedicated to the portraits of Italian workers; a book where to collect the portraits and extracts from interviews, that will be issued together in a DVD pack with a selection of video portraits. Each of the short films, here presented in preview, is based on a single character, a single place or event - a single life. And they simply tell an extraordinary story.
