Solitudine alla fine del mondo

Country: Norway
Year: 2005
Duration: 52'

In one of world's the less populated areas, a handful of men have lived in complete solitude for months. This documentary tells the story of 3 of them. For many different reasons they live secluded from the rest of the world and learn to survive in one of the most uninhabitable regions on Earth, where time seems hanging and never pass by.
"We were looking for people living in condition of extreme loneliness, in order to find out what reasons lead them to live in such a total seclusion. We tried to listen to their stories and understand their own reasons, their inner strength, their pains […]. We wanted to see how sorroundings may affect the sense of isolation and if there's a possible kind of emotional interaction between the landscape of Patagonia and its inhabitants. We also tried to stop and observe the flowing of time in extreme situations. This documentary turned out to be an extraordinary experience, both for us, the authors, and for the story itself, as it constitutes an outstanding document of great antropologic value." (C. Casas, F. Zuber)
