Nacho grew up in a Mexican monastery and he is now the monastery’s cook. He cares deeply for the orphans he feeds and he realizes he must hatch a plan to make money to buy better food for the young orphans. When Nacho is struck by the idea to earn money as a lucha libre wrestler, he finds that he has a natural talent for wrestling. As he teams with his unconventional partner, Nacho feels for the first time in his life that he has something to fight for and a place where he belongs. As Lucha is strictly forbidden by the church elders at the monastery, Nacho is forced to lead a double life. Nacho conceals his true identity as he takes on Mexico’s most famous wrestlers. “I saw a movie by Santo on TV late one night. Santo was like the Muhammad Ali of the wrestling world. I just became a big fan of Lucha Libre, and then I discovered that Nickelodeon had the rights to an article based on a true story of a Mexican wrestler named Fray Tormenta down in Mexico. Jared Hess
Jared Hess (Preston, Idaho, USA, 1979) directs commercials and music videos for production company Moxie Pictures and he worked as a camera intern and
assistant on a series of lowbudget and independent films. He wrote, shot, and directed his first short film, Peluca, in 2003. Then he wrote and directed the
independent comedy hit of 2004, Napoleon Dynamite, a film based on his memories of growing up in a small provincial town, co-written with his wife Jerusha.
