Man-soo and Hanna get on the last train to Seoul: he is a subway train driver still shocked after he hit few days before a man who jumped into the railway; she is a university lecturer who was going to a short trip with her married lover, but his wife found out about their relationship and came to her place. They fall asleep on the train and find themselves reached at the last stop, on this heavy snowy night. They have no other choice but to be together that night since there’s any vehicles available to Seoul. At first, they are on their guard against each other but they learn to reveal their inner soul and pains.

“A woman, who has a personal agony as well as a highbrow’s vanity, happens to meet a man who represents typical hard working blue collar. Nevertheless their disparity she weathers her pain by embracing his deeper pain. Through this film I would like you to think about accord, solidarity and a tie between people.”

Biography

Heung-sik Park

(Kwang-ju, South Korea, 1962) graduated at University of Seoul in German Language and Literature, then he obtained a Master’s Degree for filmologie in Free University of Berlin and studied cinema at ChungAng University. He received favorable criticism from various film festivals through his short films. In 1999 he won the awarded prize for Best Film in short films competition at Torino Film Festival with A Day. In 2004 he made his debut to feature film with The Twins. Gyeongui-seon (2007) is his second feature film.
