Nelle tue mani

IN YOUR HANDS

Country: Italy
Year: 2007
Duration: 100'

Teo studies astrophysics. One evening he is hit by a car driven by Mavi, a girl of Slavic origins who stops to help him and then disappears. They meet up by chance once again and fall in love. The years pass. Teo and Mavi have gotten married and have a daughter, Caterina. But Mavi starts to act strangely and after a series of violent quarrels Teo decides to move back to his parents’ house and takes their daughter with him. Mavi, who finds herself alone, becomes even more emotionally unstable, a situation which is aggravated by her ambiguous relationship with her father.

“Mavi is an unstable girl who suffers from emotional problems. It all explodes when she feels abandoned. She seems like a destructive person, but in the end what prevails are her unique and infective vitality and generosity. It’s a primordial strength which Teo, a rational person, first tries to suppress and then runs away from, so as not to be overcome by it. But his separation from her makes him face up to his own limits. And to the mystery of chaos, that creates life and makes things move.”
