Tramondo

In a cartboard city the lives of five characters interlacing for a few moments. An exchange of persons, an homicide, small disasters and great tragedies at sunset in a normal day of everyday life. The city, like the people living in it, is wrapped in a shroud of smoke that lets the rays of sunshine in but doesn’t let them back out.

“The act of lighting up a cigarette is often done automatically, without thinking about it too much, like turning the television on while doing other things. This is why we wanted to emphasize this kind of analogy: if we take the concept of media bombardment and compare it to a fogging up of ideas, in other words to smoke, we can then understand that accepting some of the media’s distressing news without even flinching is just like absentmindedly lighting up a cigarette. A cigarette isn’t the end of the world, it’s bad for your health, but it also represents a moment to take a break, or to think about taking a break. After all, our society is based on excuses.”
