A former top model swings in her memory between a lonely present and a past of reminiscences and fantasies, retracing various events of her life: her affair with an older man when she was 16, her relationship with her manager, her love for an adman, her attempted suicide, her recovery in a psychiatric clinic. At the end of a long flashback, the woman finds herself in her lonely house by the sea with her photographer friend, who makes her believe that he was one of her lovers. “My first film was a very personal film: it was for somebody I knew and she has a tragic ending: a really close friend, with a successful career like a model. When she started everybody loved her, but, when she gets old and the fashion industry could not make money from her, they just dumped her. It’s a metaphor of life and I saw her life because I was in this business. It’s cruel, because if they can make money from you, they’ll keep you everything. In the 1970s it was the beginning of this process.”
