Through this documentary, Emmanuelle Béart aims to lift the veil on incest. Coming out of her silence, the actress, accompanied by director Anastasia Mikova, confronts her reality with that of others. Choosing both first-person and ensemble documentary voices, she creates a powerful platform for fellow fighters to challenge the insidious shame that arises from incest. Her film points the finger at the laws and social taboos of a country where a child is sexually victimized every three minutes.

Declaration
film director
“After Camille Kouchner’s book La familia grande, we’re starting to hear the voices of more and more victims, to make us understand that no, these aren’t isolated incidents. The scale of the #MetooIncest movement on social networks is proof of this. Emmanuelle Béart is one of these victims. She’s the woman running at the beginning of the film. She has experienced incest in her own flesh. She knows what she’s talking about, even if she’s never spoken about it before. This is the starting point of the film. Driven by her own story, her resilience but also the need to understand what happened to her, she wanted to a necessary film, to tell a symbolic and universal story with which other victims could perhaps identify. A story that would help those who haven’t lived through it to understand what happens when you’re subjected to incest.”
