Yuddy, wild and rebellious, spends his life aimlessly and almost indulges himself in the lovehate relationship between him and his adopted mother Rebecca. Yuddy courts and easily wins the love of Su. But when Su suggests marriage, Yuddy turns cold and indifferent. Failing to pull herself from the relationship. Su returns and begs for a reunion, only to find that Yuddy has been staying with a bellydancer at a sleazy nightclub. Rebecca decides to go to America with a man. At long last she allows Yuddy to read the letters written to her by his real mother from the Philippine. The daughter of a noble family, she was forced to give away her illegitimate son, to Rebecca at his birth. Full of excitement and hope, Yuddy leaves for the Philippines. Yuddy is deeply hurt when he finds himself being rejected by his mother. He drinks himself to unconsciousness and is saved by Tide. The next day, he accompanies Yuddy to buy a fake passport. The scene turns into a fight. The gang is after Yuddy and manages to shoot him in the stomach. As he is dying, Tide reminds him of a promise he once pledged to Su...

Wong Kar Wai

(Shanghai, China, 1958) graduated in graphic design in Hong Kong in 1980, and began working for Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Ltd as a production assistant and screenwriter, particularly for the soap opera Don’t Look Now. He made his first feature film, As Tears Go By, in 1988, followed by Days of Being Wild (1991), Ashes of Time (1994) and, particularly, Hong Kong Express (1994), which caught the attention of the critics who named him one of Hong Kong’s best directors. In 1997 he won the award for Best Director at Cannes for Happy Together; in 2000 he directed In the Mood for Love and then its sequel 2046 (2004). In 2004 he directed The Hand, an episode of the collective film Eros, followed by My Blueberry Nights, first Wong’s American film, and in 2013 The Grandmaster.
