A boy and a mysterious character meet in the basement of an old building, a former orphanage which now serves as a livein community for adolescents. The two tell each other about incidents from everyday life connected with friendship, school, and their relationships with the educators. They contemplate the future and their taking a place in adult society. This film is the result of a longterm project in which the visual medium is meant not only as a means of information, but also as a means for the children themselves to create stimulation, satisfaction and thought.

Sergio Brero

Born in 1961, Sergio Brero graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin and presently teaches arts education. In 1987 he attended a course for television cameramen offered by the Piedmont Region. In 1989 he worked as assistant director to Gianna Orizio for her documentary, Il grande viaggio.
