Craig is twenty-six and is heading to the South of the United States in search of the “biggest things in the world.” From the tree trunk with the largest circumference, to the rocking chair taller than a house, when Craig comes across something worthy of the Guinness book of world records, he photographs it and stops to chat with the local people. Everything seems to be going right: in two weeks he’ll move to San Francisco with his girlfriend and the two will buy a house together. So then why does Craig pretend he’s at work when he talks on the phone with her?

Bryan Reisberg
Bryan Reisberg (USA), after graduating from NYU’s Tisch School, presented his first short film Father/Son at the 2012 BFI London Film Festival. He recently directed The Walker, a web series starring Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan. Since forming Uncorked Productions with Andrew Corkin in 2008, he has also directed music videos and commercials. Big Significant Things is his first feature film.

“I used to daydream about just leaving: going on a trip and not telling anybody. I wasn’t serious about it, but I had these naiv and romantic visions of leaving my job and friends and family behind in lieu of a wildly spontaneous adventure into the unknown expanses of the world. I think they call that vagrancy these days. Unfortunately these fantasies usually reduced into logistical exercises. So instead of dreaming about this wildly spontaneous adventure, I would spend a lot of time thinking about the implications of being unreachable.”
