A renowned health supplement company, run by a ruthless businesswoman, is selecting and abducting young women as part of an experiment bio-hacking babies’ DNA to enable her clients to reverse the aging process. When young, goal-driven Mia sets out to investigate this shady business, she ends up getting trapped in the human farm’s perverse web. Familiar faces start to appear, and she realizes that she is not alone in this. Can she somehow find inner strength and escape from the nightmare?

Jens Dahl
(Copenhagen, Denmark, 1961) made his debut as a screenwriter for the Nicolas Winding Refn’s Pusher (presented at the 29th Torino Film Festival), and then worked mainly for Danish and Swedish tv series. After the short film 2 Girls 1 cake (2013), in 2017 he made his feature debut with the thriller 3 Things. Breeder (2020) is his second feature.

«I constantly try to reinvent myself. It’s a mindset that helps me keep my vitality and stay relevant. Some years ago I developed an interest in bio-hacking and life extention. But in doing so, I encountered a dilemma: if we live longer, we will also hold onto our power and privilege for longer, leaving no space for the next generations. This dilemma is what sparked the idea for Breeder. We cultivated it, exaggerated it. And turned it into a story about a woman’s fight against the people in power, who literally consume their own offspring in order to become young again.»
