BREAKING UPWARDS
Daryl and Zoe have going out for four years and boredom is starting to set in. But their relationship is so close that it’s almost an addiction. Thus, they decide to plan their separation and come up with a strategy that lets them see each other every other day and also go out with other people, experimenting life as an open couple first-hand. Their parents become involved in this attempt as well, giving advice but above all asking themselves the same questions as their children.

“This film was born out of the desire to want to see a fresh, thoughtful new look at the way twenty-somethings were being portrayed on screen. I wanted to create a story that I could identify with as a twenty-five year old where my demographic wasn’t being depicted as meandering or stereotypical. I wanted to see a story where people my age were actively seeking answers; a world in which parents ask the same questions as children, and children force parents to explore notions of loneliness and happiness much later in life.”
