Cristi is a policeman who has to tail and frame a boy who has been accused by a classmate of using and selling drugs. As he picks up the remains of a joint, the policeman looks for proof of drug dealing but is unable to find any. In Romania, even the use and possession of drugs are against the law but Cristi decides not to ruin the life of a boy who behaves like so many others his age in other European countries. He refuses to arrest him, disobeying the orders of his superior, because he is convinced that the law will soon be changed.

“The crime genre seduced me because, every time around, it involves you, the viewer; it is like a puzzle in which you are involved and which provokes you to foresee what is to come. In the end, all things will be clarified and everything will make sense. Working on this film, I chose to look in an almost clinical way at police procedures and the way in which cops react; I followed him around, with the strong belief that cinema is witness to a meaningless world.”
