In a small town in the north of Peru the "caballitos de totora" are particular boats which have been used for about 2000 years. They are symbols of the peoples strong attachment to their own culture and origins. Like their Mochica and Chimu ancestors, the inhabitants of Huanchaco today still practice the cultivation of "totora" and still fish with the "caballitos".

Teresa Punzi (Rome, 1965) works as assistant film and TV cameraperson. In 1990 she made the documentary Toubab, presented at the ninth Turin Film Festival.
