The film is a visual transcription of a religious feast that takes place in a town in Calabria. Its rhythm is counterpointed by the litany of the people who sing in honor of the saint and by the "confronta", i.e. the thrilling and almost mad race of the statues carried on people's shoulders.

Giuseppe Fiorenza
Giuseppe Fiorenza (Pazzano, Reggio Calabria, 1952), graduated in Law and subsequently in Literature with a thesis on the cinema of Nanni Moretti. In 1980 he published a collection of short stories entitled Fuori della gente. In 1984 he made Storie di Palazzo and was Daniele Segre's assistant director for Andata e ritorno. He wrote the screenplay I treni del sole, which won a special mention for the 1990 Solinas prize. He presented the video C'era una volta un baracchino Fiat at the eighth Turin Film Festival.
