One day anywhere a handful of lawabiding condominium tenants are waiting for something or someone in the courtyard of an old building. Pieces of conversations crisscross. Little rivalries creep up, but a holy and indisputable cause unites them in the wait: to defend by all means necessary the inviolability of the condominium and of its rules.

"Garage is neither a 'crosssection of life in the neighborhoods' nor a 'reconnaissance trip into real life' or anything like that. I wanted to talk about people's acquiescence to power in its worst version, that is, when it becomes an aping of power itself and transforms a tenant into a gendarme and a condominium into a little police state but this is only one example. The film does little more than render explicit the most apt dimension of this metaphor its grotesqueness. In this way Garage is an anti-realistic story, a distorted event a story of everyday life."
