Men and women in all walks of life join in homage to the soldier patriot as he lies in state in the Nations Capitol. A memorable and solemn spectacle is the procession to Arlington Cemetery - led by General Eisenhower and Bradley, President Truman and high Government officials join in a last farewell to the victorious commander of World War I the highest ranking General office since George Washington, General John Joseph Pershing.

2 - SHOWDOWN NEAR IN BERLIN!

The Berlin crisis grows graver by the hour, as the Russians threaten to extend their blockade to the air lanes, barring the amazing air lift which, so far, has kept Berlin supplied. The showdown nears as Britain's Anthony Eden and Americas Lewis W. Douglas arrive for conferences with Western Allied commanders. The time to call the Red bluff seems at hand.

3 - TOGLIATTI SHOT! ROME REDS RIOT!

Communist demonstration in Rome after attempted assassination of the Italian Communist leader ends in a pitched battle with the police.

4 - ANTI-TRUMAN FORCES NAME OWN TICKET!

6,000 Dixie Democrats, snafued at Philadelphia, hold their own "rump" convention in Birmingham. They nominate South Carolinas Governor J. Strom Thurmond for President, and Mississippi's Governor Fielding L. Wright for Vice President, in their fight to defeat President Truman and his "civil rights" platform!

5 - BASEBALL SENSATION!

The deal that has baseball tans talking to themselves. Leo Durocher, of Brooklyn Dodger, is suddenly, unexpectedly, named manager of their bitter intercity rivals, the New York Giants! Burt Shotton, who pinch hit last season for Durocher during Leo's suspension, takes over as the new Dodger manager.

6 - FOOTBALL SEASON ON THE WAY!

First gridiron turnout of the year, Los Angeles Dons take to the field for practice session with a mechanical triple-threat dummy that looks like a sure AII-American.
