Nineyearold Anthony lives inside a garbage bin in a fast food restaurant. This is his vantage point for looking at a world that ha distanced himself from: birthday parties, family rituals, etc. During the night, when the restaurant is closed, he comes out of the bin and eats a meal. Anthony meets a derelict and brings him in the restaurant as if it is his own house. Both are outsiders in relation to a world that seems to be unable to offer them peace and prosperity. Anthony always carries a collection of newspaper clippings with him. One of them shows the boy with his father, mother, and sister. One day Anthony recognizes his family in the restaurant, so he sends them a little card written in chocolate. However, the family does not understand the message and they go away. While he is sleeping one morning, Anthony is discovered by the restaurant owner The manager's girlfriend finds Anthony's newspaper clippings, reads one of them, and comes to find out why the boy was staying inside the bin.
