Antonella Ponziani

Antonella Ponziani (Rome) graduated from, a high school of the arts. She attended courses in theater and mime. She studied music, singing, and the saxophone. She played the saxophone in a band. In fact, the saxophone became the symbol of the Umberto Marino's comedy - Non andare a Modena a prendere un vecchio sassofono - which launched her upon the scene of the new Italian theater. After this, she alternated her work between stage and screen. First, she had the extraordinary experience of being in Federico Fellini's L'intervista. Then she appeared on stage in Giulio Base's Crack, and later she appeared in its film adaptation. She was the leading actress in Marco Risi's Soldati, Carlo Mazzacurati's Un'altra vita, Pasquale Pozzessere's Verso Sud, Pino Quartullo's Le donne non vogliono più, and Mario Monicelli's Cari fottutissimi amici. Her passion for cinema pushed her towards directing.
