A video portrait of Mario Cipriani, the actor who played the role of Stracci in Pier Paolo Pasolini's La ricotta and of the places where he grew up and acted - how they were then and how they are now.

"Our 'greats' have known how to make undisputed masterpieces that still move us using 'people from the street'. There is, nevertheless, an emotion of returning that I encountered and that I was in turn touched by. Mario is a 'street kid' that came into some kind of fairy tale that bequeathed him a kind of schizophrenia when he looked back on it: the myth of cinema and the disenchantment of a life of sacrifices. He is marked by a fear of being left alone and forgotten and so is always there to remind himself of his lost and never forgotten dream. He is there, saying in his particular accent: 'I would like to do films again, a little to have a secure old age and a little to know if I'm better or worse'. Money on the one hand and a mirror of himself on the other" (Giulia D'Intino).

"I nostri 'grandi' hanno saputo fare con la 'gente della strada' capolavori indiscussi che ancora ci commuovono. C'è tuttavia una commozione di ritorno che ho incontrato e mi ha toccato a sua volta. Mario è un 'ragazzo di vita' cui è capitata in sorte una fiaba che gli ha lasciato in eredit` una schizofrenia nello sguardo: il mito del cinema e il disincanto di una vita di sacrifici. Segnato dalla paura dell'abbandono e della dimenticanza, lui è sempre lì a ricordarlo a se stesso quel sogno perduto e mai dimenticato. Lui è lì che dice: 'Mi piacerebbe fare ancora del cinema, pe' ave' 'na vecchiaia tranquilla e per sape' se so mejo o peggio'. I soldi da una parte e lo specchio di sé dall'altra" (Giulia D'Intino).
