A few months after the Woodstock concert, the Rolling Stones decided to finish their tour in the United States on December 6, 1969 with a free concert, organized at short notice thanks to permission granted at the last moment by the Altamont raceway, located near San Francisco. Over 300,000 people attended. The organizers called on the Hell's Angels to take care of security. The result was one death and an unspecified number of injuries. To immortalize the event, the Stones had called on some of the most famous American producers of underground documentaries. Only the Maysles brothers showed up, relatively unknown at the time, but very talented.
