This film tells the story of the birth of a stage play. It begins when Ottavia Piccolo discovered Massimo Carlotto's book, Le irregolari. Piccolo was struck by the force of the book's topic - the Argentine desaparecidos and the protest of the mothers of the Plaza de Mayo. She asked Carlotto to write her a play - the means that she was most at home in - in order to communicate all the horror that she found in the stories of the Argentine tragedies. The theatrical version then passed into the hands of two young writers Vito Biolchini and Elio Turno Arthemaille. Elsa, woman of the leading role, took shape. The meetings began between the actress and the director, Silvano Piccardi. This is the way that Buenos Aires non finisce mai came into the theatrical limelight.

"Why do we never talk of theater? And when we talk about it, how do we talk? We should not only show the performance, but also understand the mechanisms that created it" (Emanuela La Torre).
