Sanpeet is a 7-year-old boy boxer who lives in northeastern Thailand. He fights to support his family in boxing rings set up in the forests near the Laotian border. It is a common practice in that region to exploit little boys forcing them to fight in makeshift rings surrounded by adults who bet on the matches. The younger the fighting boxers, the surer they are of winning.

Giuseppe Petitto
Giuseppe Petitto (Catanzaro, 1969) graduated from the National Film School in Rome in 1994 and subsequently earned an EAVE degree (for European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs). He directed commercials and various programs for RAI. He has worked as director of Karousel Films, Rome, since 1995, with which he has produced publicity films and documentaries made by various directors.
Enrico Pitzianti
Enrico Pitzianti (Cagliari, 1961) has a law degree and also graduated from the New York Film Academy with a degree in directing. Besides writing the screenplays for his own works, he has also written screenplays for other directors. His film Sanpeet (Veleno) participated in the Doc 2001 Competition at last year's Torino Film Festival.

Gianluca Pulcini
Gianluca Pulcini (Rome, 1971) completed his doctoral degree in contemporary history in 1998 and now works as a professional photo reporter. As a photographer, he documented the Medrano circus tour of ex-Yugoslavia in 1998-99. He then worked for the newspaper, "Il Manifesto" and the weekly magazine, "Internazionale". In 2000 he filmed a report about the refugee camps in Burma and in 2001 about those in Cambodia. He also worked with the Kataweb film department.
