Shortly after his marriage to Su'ad, Mursi goes to work in a lighthouse. The distance between himself and his wife makes Mursi fear that she will betray him. But a letter from Su'ad will allay some of his fears.
"My films always begin with an image. The idea is always born from mental images that follow one another and that materialize as I write. When I begin shooting, I already have a picture in my mind of how the film will look on the screen. Therefore, I can shoot without depending too much on the screenplay, but also without improvising, because, like I said, I know the film in all its details" (Sa'id Marzuq, in an interview with Samir Farid published in "Al Giumhuriyya", July 9, 1970).

Sa'id Marzuq
Sa'id Marzuq (1940). Director and screenwriter, he began his artistic career as a painter and sculptor. He has worked as assistant director on radio shows. He has directed several short films for television.
