Abigail lives in the city’s outskirts, where she lives a lonely existence, almost hidden away, working as a reader for the visually impaired. Her father is close to dying. Her biggest dream is to have a man by her side to love. One day a stranger knocks at her door and she welcomes him into her home. He tells her of an ancient legend according to which, if someone were to meet a celestial creature and steal its clothes, then that person would become the being’s lover. Shortly thereafter another stranger wanders into her life...

Declaration

film director

“Eugene Suen, who produced this film, introduced me to Amanda Plummer a few years ago, and we began corresponding about possible ways to collaborate on a project. [...] I tried to think of stories that could provide a space and stage for her to perform freely. We tossed around a number of story ideas, and finally connected on an old Korean folktale that I read as a child and never forgot [...]. With Amanda free to run [...], I wanted to contrast the fantastic nature of the story with a more realistic approach to highlight the character’s raw emotions.”
