Glasgow. Robbie, Rhino, Albert and Mo find themselves in front of a judge after committing yet another stunt. Robbie, in particular, since he is about to become a father, sees this as the right moment to make a break with his old lifestyle and the opportunity presents itself when, instead of being sent to prison, the four madcaps are sentenced to do community service, under the supervision of the volunteer social worker Harry. During a trip to a distillery organized by Harry, Robbie discovers he has a natural talent for whisky tasting, and once they return to Glasgow he and this three companions plan a heist that is less than legal, in order to put some money together and finally get a real job.

Declaration

film director

“Late last year, the number of unemployed young people in Britain reached over a million for the first time. We wanted to tell a story about this generation of young people, a lot of whom face an empty future. They can be pretty sure that they won’t get a job, a permanent job, a secure job. Just what effect does that have on people and how do they see themselves?”
