Declaration
film director
“There is a Philip Roth quote that Mickey paraphrases toward the end of the movie, that “A Jewish man with parents alive is a fifteen-year-old boy, and will remain a fifteen-year-old boy until they die […]” This is certainly the case for Peter, who remains on his own coming of age journey as he approaches 70. Ex-Husbands is the story of a man stripped bare, who for the last four decades has seen himself as Maria’s husband, Nick and Mickey’s father, and Simon and Eunice’s son. Who is Peter now that his parents are gone, his wife has left him, and his kids have grown up?”
