It's summertime, warm sunlight shines on Teresa as she tries to escape from it under a large magnolia tree. Teresa is an obstetrician, she is seventy years old, her white hair is gathered up in a braid, and her smile is welcoming. She is with about ten women .They are in a circle, all are pregnant but not all of them are at the same stage of their pregnancy. The women introduce each other and tell something about themselves. “When I found out I was pregnant, it seemed as though everybody had an opinion or a truth to share about the right things to do. I felt I was being sent down a trajectory that others had already decided for me, the result of what seemed to be customs and standardized habits, choices made by the other women in my family. I asked myself if there might be another, more personal way to deal with the total upheaval I was experiencing. This movie was born from this 'search' of mine.”
