UN RESPIRO PARZIALE MA INTERO

In June 2022, while the director is working on the story of his encounter with Patrizia Cavalli, the time they spent together, and her gaze, first attentive and later rendered vacuous by her illness, the poet dies. Only a few images of her remain: the only thing to do is to use a metaphor to recount her, as archive images and a narration that is part declaration of love and part adieu alternate with poems recited by their author. A sincere gesture of love for the great poet Patrizia Cavalli, in which the author dialogues with her poems and the archive images that depict her, restoring the poetic universe and the human condition through a very personal gaze.

“In 2018, I attended a reading by Patrizia Cavalli. I knew her works but it was the first time I heard them with the poet's voice and original rhythm. She had recently survived a brain tumor but her decline into oblivion had begun. Between one poem and another; I felt something more inside me: that woman with the disheveled white hair, her shoulders hunched forward, defenseless, would lose her train of thought and yet, without finding it again, she would move on to a new poem. How could oblivion and the sublime overlap? After the reading she asked me to accompany her home. That was the beginning of the journey that has led me to this film.”
