One of the most celebrated actors recognized worldwide, Antonio Banderas will attend the 43rd Torino Film Festival, taking place from 21st to 29th November. The multi-award-winning actor, director and producer is set to receive the Stella della Mole award during the opening ceremony at Turin’s Teatro Regio, in recognition of his long career, that has made him a worldwide symbol of Latin cinema.
To celebrate his long-term collaboration with master Almodóvar, the Festival will present a special screening of Dolor y Gloria (2019), a powerful and autobiographical film that earned Banderas the Best Actor Award at Cannes Film Festival, and Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations, among others.
The director of the Festival, Giulio Base, stated: “Antonio Banderas, shaped by Almodóvar’s creative forge, was able to conquer Hollywood and embody the image of a complete actor: a performer of a dizzying depth and, at the same time, a global sex symbol of his generation”.
