Four young “hustlers” use a hotel room near the 42th street, in New York, for their activities. One of them has a thing for a twelve-years-old boy. During the night, he leaves him in the room. Another of the group, a heroin addict, wants to sell the boy to a businessman of the East Side, to earn the money he needs to close a deal with some blacks. But the boy takes too much drug and dies in his bed. The four guys and their pimp decide to sell him anyway, hoping that the buyer won’t notice that he is dead.

Declaration

film director

Even if nature is debauched, it finds emptiness repulsive. In a city like New York, where people live and die in the toilets and every behavior is free from any restriction, the criminals have to punish themselves when someone breaks their rules. The characters of the story are chained to a destiny that they built with their own hands, trapped in a room with the corpse of a kid. It seemed fair to take the audience in that room, to proof that that was the only way and there wasn’t any other way out.
