JA NEKUDA TEBJA NE OTPUSCU
by Elena Kostantinovna Tonunc
Moscow, the 1990's: there is a girl whose mother had died and whose father is an alcoholic under constant hospital care. On her sixteenth birthday she leaves her parents' house to begin a completely independent life in the hope of finding an interesting job, friends, a boyfriend... But, her new life looks like it's going to be complicated and tragic. Only at the end of her long search will she find support and understanding.
"I look at the world around us with sorrow and bitterness. Humanity is losing its ideas of friendship, solidarity, and mutual support. In this film I wanted to hold up a mirror to people to let them be able to look at our society and themselves, and what we are becoming... I hope that those who see this film can begin to ask themselves questions again about their own lives and the world around us and again seek ways of overcoming their problems and absurdities."
